ODYSSEY  TO  TRAPPIST-1

​What would happen if the crew of a starship awoke from cryostasis with a thousand-year journey ahead of them?

The spaceship Endeavour and its crew were sent on a thousand-year journey to terraform and colonize a planet in the TRAPPIST-1 system. However, a malfunction caused half of the passengers to awaken from cryogenic sleep only a few decades after departure. Andrew takes command of the ship for the last thirty years of the voyage and feels it is his duty to bear witness to future generations of the living conditions the crew endured, generation after generation, to survive this odyssey.

​The bodies of several infants are found on the spaceship Endeavour, now in its thousandth year on its way to the TRAPPIST-1 system. Tessa Taylor and Sapati Keli are assigned to investigate the murders. The investigation takes them to the ship’s aft rings, where the most vulnerable crew members reside, plagued by a variety of genetic diseases, easy prey for a cult that worships the Endeavour as a veritable deity.

Editing an old story may turn out to be a complex task, you may fall into some "creative traps", but it's not impossible. There are two major problems, one technical and the other emotional: an old structure that is not functional enough and the love we feel for the story. What I would suggest is that you harden your heart and deconstruct the work, separate its various elements, sort them into categories: setting, plot, characters. Then ask yourself questions to identify the things you like and want to keep, and the things you don't like and should cut.

I post funny April fool videos! Today, I want to talk about fantamance, a new literary genre that is gaining popularity among young people. As the name suggests, it combines elements of fantasy and romance, making it a sister genre of romantasy. However, it represents a diametrically opposed version of romantasy, like two sides of the same coin.

Sometimes I talk about things that are happening in the creative arts world in general. Over the past few weeks, you may have come across news like this: Mary Poppins censored in England, banned for minors! But is it true? Or is it, as usual, the newspapers misrepresenting a news story, whether out of sensationalism, clickbait, malice or simply because they publish articles without checking the sources?
